Optimising Spray Precision with the DJI Agras T100: Real Avocado Orchard Results from AgDrone.au

Independent swath testing data + Australian-made 15 kW fast charger that actually works on our 32 A sheds

Getting chemical right down to the bottom leaves of a dense avocado canopy without wasting a drop on the top or the ground between the rows is bloody hard. At AgDrone.au we don’t guess settings – we test them until they’re repeatable on any farm from Mareeba to Childers.

Our latest round of swath testing on the new DJI Agras T100 was done exactly where it matters: in real avocado orchards, using UV dye, black lights and hundreds of water-sensitive papers. We visualised every droplet so we could see – not hope – that coverage was even from the top of the tree to the lowest leaf.

What We Actually Tested

  • Forward speeds 4–9 m/s
  • Droplet sizes 150–350 µm VMD
  • Multiple boom heights and swath widths
  • Cross-wind and down-wind passes

The outcome? Proven T100 settings that deliver outstanding lower-canopy penetration on avocados while keeping drift near zero. Queensland and northern NSW contractors are already using these exact numbers to smash hectare records with no missed strips.

Charge Faster, Spray More: Australian-Made 15 kW T100 Charger

The T100’s 100 L tank is a game-changer, but sitting on the ground waiting for batteries is not. That’s why we built the AgDrone.au 15 kW Fast Charger – fully compliant with Australian standards, fitted with proper 32 A industrial plugs you already have in the shed.

It charges noticeably faster than DJI’s 12 kW unit, cutting ground time and maximising hectares per day. Fill faster. Charge faster. Fly longer.

Why This Matters in 2025

Chemical is expensive, labels are getting tighter, and the neighbour’s house is closer than ever. Being able to prove uniform coverage and minimal drift is rapidly going from “nice to have” to “must have”.

We’re building Australia’s biggest independent library of T50 and T100 swath data for local crops – avocados, macadamias, mangoes, citrus and broadacre. Every test we run gets shared with our customers.

Want the exact T100 settings that are working right now in the Tablelands? Need a charger that doesn’t need an adaptor or an electrician every time you plug it in?

Email us at info@agdrone.au – we’ll send you the data and the gear that’s built for Australian conditions.
